JBF Scholarship

Established in 2016, the JBF Scholarship program embodies the foundation's commitment to supporting the educational endeavors of students in our community and making a positive impact on their lives. Recipients of these scholarships are honored at our annual dinner auction, where they are acknowledged for their achievements.

Having already granted over $100,000 to the youth of Douglas County, the foundation has made significant strides in empowering future generations.

Growing up, Josh was heavily involved in sports, with a particular passion for football during his time at Douglas High School. Following his graduation, he received a scholarship to play football at the University of Oregon. Subsequently drafted by the Green Bay Packers and earning the role of starting punter in his rookie season, Josh's life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer just days after joining the team.

Despite facing multiple surgeries and undergoing extensive treatment far from his home in Roseburg, Josh realized his calling in life, shaping the vision of the Josh Bidwell Foundation. Dedicated to providing support to cancer patients receiving care at Roseburg's Community Cancer Center, the foundations enables them to access vital services within their own community. Additionally, the foundation aims to bolster local youth programs, aligning with the values that had a profound impact on Josh during his formative years.

Awarded annually to promising students in Douglas County, these scholarships seek to nurture individuals who demonstrate a commitment to becoming successful, community-minded citizens – embodying the spirit of the Josh Bidwell Foundation.

ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP

brundige family scholarship

In 2023, the Brundige Family Scholarship was established to honor the Brundige family's deep roots in Douglas County, dating back to the 1960s. Frank and Mildred Brundige's story is a testament to hard work, resilience, and determination, reflecting their family's journey through both triumphs and heartaches.

Although battles against cancer took Frank in 1999 and Mildred in 2005, these trials enriched the family's values, infusing them with compassion and faith. In partnership with the Josh Bidwell Foundation, the Brundige Family aims to give back to the community that has supported them throughout the years.

Each year, the Brundige Family Scholarship seeks a recipient who embodies these core values, ensuring the family's legacy of community support continues. Join in honoring Frank and Millie's legacy by applying for this impactful scholarship.
